Must… Decipher… Gmail… Conversation… View

I must be the world's biggest idyot. I've been using Gmail a lot more for work lately and for the life of me I can't figure out the conversation view. I'm old school. I need all my emails in a linear format. I keep responding to the wrong person on the CC, with the message "Don't worry about that email - this guy is a kook!"

Help me, please. Is there a way to turn the conversation view off and use it with "normal" settings? Or am I stuck responding to the wrong people?

At the vey bottom of your email page is a row of text that says standard view, html view etc. Try html view. That might work.
