Here's what Facebook thinks I want

After reading Brad Stone's article "Ads Posted on Facebook Strike Some as Off-Key" on The New York Times today, I'm reminded of a post I've been saving up.

Facebook, which knows a LOT about me, has been displaying the following photos to me for some time. To my knowledge, there's been nothing on my profile that would say "show me photos of very busty women." As an experiment over the past 10 weeks or so, I've been "x-ing out" the ads with the most busty women to see how long it took to not have them displayed. After about 8 weeks they've started to taper off and I've seen more modest ads.

But it begs the question: With Facebook knowing so much about me, perhaps it really DOES know what I want.
